You’re imperfect, Jesus is perfect, and you end up being perfect

God's perfection

Jesus said,

“Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.” (Matthew 10:37-38.)

Do not let this worry you. It’s true that you are not worthy on your own – through your own efforts – to enter the righteous and holy family of God. But Jesus is worthy, and he has redeemed you by his own righteous and holy works on your behalf:

“It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus … our righteousness, holiness and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:30.)

And that’s the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
