There’s a Reason We Mourn the Tragedies of Others

… any man’s death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
(John Donne, No Man Is an Island, 1624.)

When people suffer, we are to:

… come alongside (2 Corinthians 1:3-5)

… join in their suffering (Hebrews 13:3)

… and carry the burdens of the women and men around us. (Galatians 6:2.)

Because when it happens to one, it happens to all.
