Grasping at Christmas

Today is a follow-up to yesterday’s post on wealth and poverty at Christmas:

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end. (Isaiah 9:6-7.)

I really like how you put that, Tim, about Jesus not being able to embrace us. Jesus didn’t come as a problem solver or question answerer, but as a needy baby. That God would choose this method must be saying something so profound about who He is and the relationship He wants to have with us. Thanks for exploring this in such a thought provoking way.
